WALK: Lynn's Tudor Revolution

Wednesday 17 July 2024

2pm • £10 advance booking only (booking fees may apply)

Lynn’s success in securing Henry VIII’s charter broke the historic hold of the Norwich bishops on the town and sprang from the political manoeuvres of its merchant class.  Who were they?  Where did they live?  How was borough government transformed?  This walk with Dr Paul Richards from King Street to the Trinity Guildhall via King’s Lynn Minster will proffer the answers.  Some focus is on Thomas Miller who acted as the town’s tribune or governor during the turbulent 1520s.

Meet at St George’s Guildhall (courtyard) in King Street.

Tickets on sale to Festival Patrons on 29 April and Festival Friends on 7 May.  Become a Festival Friend or Patron to access the priority booking period. Public booking opens on 13 May.
