Founded in 2007 by violinist Rachel Podger, Brecon Baroque is an international ensemble of world-class period instrument musicians. Together they perform a shimmering one-to-a-part repertoire that includes Vivaldi, Biber, Hasse and Handel.

Known for their exceptional performances and innovative programming, they have wowed audiences at the Wigmore Hall, Edinburgh International Festival, and on tours across Europe and Japan. Their annual Brecon Baroque Festival continues to be a highlight of the classical calendar.

Rachel and the ensemble’s debut release, Bach Violin Concertos, was hailed as a benchmark recording, earning universal critical acclaim. Their recording of Vivaldi's L’Estro Armonico concertos won the prestigious 2016 BBC Music Magazine Concerto Award, while their interpretation of Biber’s Rosary Sonatas claimed the 2016 Baroque Instrumental Gramophone Award. Other notable releases include Bach Art of Fugue (2016), Grandissima Gravita (2017), and Vivaldi Le Quattro Stagioni (2018), which was described as "genuinely, effortlessly and naturally different" by Gramophone.

Brecon Baroque's performances are a treat for classical music lovers, combining exceptional Baroque virtuosity with heartfelt musical expression. Their performance at the Festival promises to be another highlight of their remarkable career.
