Join Trio Hesperi for a whirlwind musical tour of cities in the Hanseatic League across the eighteenth century, visiting Handel in Halle, Telemann in Hamburg, and Bach in Mühlhausen, as well as lesser-known composers Anna Amalia of Prussia in Berlin, the recorder-loving Loeillet of Ghent, and Roman of Stockholm.
No Hesperi concert would be complete without a floral air by Scot James Oswald, several of which appear on the ensemble’s second commercial release A Gift for your Garden, recently selected as album of the week on BBC Radio 3.
