In July 2014 Judith Weir was appointed to the 395-year old royal post of Master of the Queen’s Music, succeeding her fellow Scot, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. In this role she has written music for national and royal occasions, including the late Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations and the UK’s official commemoration of the 1918 Armistice. She has written operas which have been performed across Europe and USA, choral and orchestra music as well as smaller scale works.

The Town Hall’s chequerboard façade conceals six hundred years of history. An evocative example of Lynn’s rich heritage, the Town Hall boasts a series of majestic oak panelled rooms, decorated by elegant chandeliers.

Car Parking
There is parking directly opposite the Town Hall on the Saturday Market Place and behind it on Baker Lane.  Please note: Charges apply 24 hours a day, including for Blue Badge holders. Accessibility
There is one level access from the front door to the lift and toilet for people with disabilities on the ground floor. There is an infra-red sound enhancement system for the hard of hearing, and guide dogs are admitted.

Seating
All of our Town Hall festival events have unreserved seats.  Capacity varies from 70 to 170 depending on event.  Due to current building works and fire regulations at the venue, please note there are only 4 wheelchair spaces available and these MUST be booked in advance.
