This 2025 British historical drama film is directed by Nicholas Hytner and written by Alan Bennett. Set in 1916, during World War I, in the fictional town of Ramsden, Yorkshire, where a new choirmaster (played by Ralph Fiennes) recruits a disparate group of townspeople for the local choral society. They decide that they will perform Edward Elgar's 'The Dream of Gerontius'. This a heartfelt film that celebrates the power of music to transcend the lives of people deeply affected by the war.
