Haydn Piano Trio No. 38 in D, Hob. XV:24
Schubert Piano Trio No. 2 in B flat, D. 898
Having recently appeared at the Wigmore Hall and with several accolades to their name, Trio Havisham perform a duo of trios from composers synonymous with the form. Where Haydn departs from musical wit and frivolity in favour of something altogether more seriously earnest, Schubert embarks upon a rather more characteristic blithe and amiable narrative in what is nevertheless a monumental work of the chamber repertoire.
