A Magic Night with the BBC


King’s Lynn Festival took its place on the national stage when the BBC Concert Orchestra recorded an edition of Radio 2’s Friday Night is Music Night on Monday July 20 during the 65th Lynn Festival.

Ken Bruce presented the two-hour programme, The Magic of the Musicals, featuring the 65-strong orchestra conducted by Richard Balcombe and three soloists from West End musicals - Ria Jones, Michael Dore and Geronimo Rauch.

Tickets sold like hot cakes for the high profile event in Lynn Corn Exchange which is to be broadcast on Friday July 24 incorporating background information about the Festival from chairman Alison Croose.

Following their BBC colleagues will be BBC Radio Norfolk, broadcasting the Nick Conrad show live all morning on Tuesday 21 July from the King's Lynn Corn Exchange, going behind-the-scenes at this year's festival.
