King's Lynn Calling

In July 2025, we teamed up with theatre company Eastern Angles to create a brand-new project called King’s Lynn Calling!, an atmospheric 30-minute audio experience inspired by the town of King’s Lynn.

The project:

The Norfolk town of King’s Lynn is the inspiration for this community ‘sound collage’ created using words contributed by the local people who know and love this place.

This audio experience can be accompanied by a 30-minute walk through King’s Lynn. Starting at Alive Corn Exchange, wonder down to the Guildhall, Purfleet Quay, King’s Staithe Square and the Town Hall before reaching a dramatic end to the walk at King’s Lynn Minster. Some of the stories have been inspired by the buildings that you’ll pass on the way, we invite to carry on exploring the town to discover the other sights mentioned.

Click here to see the outline of the walking tour route.

As you walk, a digital turning dial scans the imaginary airvwaves picking up memories of shops and parties, celebrating ancient buildings, sharing stories of local legends from across the town, plus beautiful words from some of the youngest residents of King’s Lynn.

Can’t make it to King’s Lynn? No problem – you can listen to King’s Lynn Calling! anywhere you like and let the words and sounds transport you!
