Ambrose Miller read music at Cambridge and London universities, studying composition concurrently at the Royal College of Music where his Woodwind Quintet won the Cobbett Prize. He was a viola player in the Royal Ballet Orchestra and subsequently its manager.  He founded the European Union Chamber Orchestra which, between 1991 and 2011 with support from the European Commission, toured in 73 countries.  He was  Artistic Director of the Stratford on Avon Music Festival and remains a curator of various chamber and orchestral music series.

Anna Pool is a composer, director and performer who grew up in East Anglia.   

She has written music for shows at spaces including Shakespeare’s Globe, Marlowe Canterbury and Eastern Angles.  She’s directed shows for companies including Opera North, ETO and Barbican. Her production of Kurt Weill’s Lady in the Dark (Opera Zuid) won 2022 Opera of the Year in the Netherlands.  She is currently writing a new children’s opera about mathematical whizzkid Ada Lovelace (English Touring Opera).
