Kings Lynn Shakespeare Festival

The first Kings Lynn Shakespeare Festival will celebrate the works of the Bard in workshops, performance and discussion in the very theatre where it is thought that the playwright himself performed in 1592. 
 

The weekend will feature guests from stage and academia to honour Shakespeare’s connection with the town, with two guest performances by Sir Ian McKellen.
 

The festival is hosted by one of the most respected Shakespearean actors of his generation, Andrew Jarvis.

St George's Guildhall is the largest surviving medieval guildhall in England - boasting many original and rare medieval features. The first theatre production was in 1442 and was officially reopened after an ambitious restoration in 1951, marking the start of the first King’s Lynn Festival.
