MOZART Quartet in D major, K575. “Prussian”
DVORAK Cypresses B.152
BEETHOVEN Quartet No.3 in C major, Op.59. “Razumovsky”
This is a rare opportunity to hear two of Dvorak’s Cypresses which are suffused with the Czech charm of Bohemia. Beethoven’s Razumovsky Quartet also looks east with its dedication to the Russian ambassador to Vienna, an accomplished violinist. Mozart’s “Prussian” Quartet gives prominence to the cello, the instrument played by the works dedicatee, Friedrich Wilhelm, King of Prussia. The Isla String Quartet were Britten Pears Young Artists for 2023/24 performing in the Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall. The Quartet was selected as 2025 Tillett Debut Artists.
