Free Events at this year's festival



This year we are delighted to support a number of free events to introduce everyone to a varied musical programme in informal settings:

Sunday 13 July, 6pm
The fantastic Fairey Band will perform a short fanfare in the Tuesday Market Place just after 6pm - the premiere of a specially-commissioned piece of music to mark the artisitic and cultural links between King's Lynn and the French town of Amiens. 
You can also see them in concert at the Corn Exchange aftwerwards.

Tuesday 15 July, 2.30pm
One of the festival's many fringe events, the popular Svyati Duo will perform music for organ and cello at King's Lynn Minster. Further information available from 01553 767090.

Sunday 20 July, 4pm-7pm
Enjoy a great afternoon of cocktails and jazz at Bank House Hotel, King's Staithe Square, featuring George King's Festival Trio.

Monday 21 July, 2.15pm
See a 30-minute performance by the award winning Jubilee String Quartet at Bank House Hotel.
Its not too late to grab yourself the last tickets of their full concert on Sunday 20 July.

Tuesday 22 July, 1pm
The wonderful Renaissance wind band Blondel are giving a 30-minute recital on the Tuesday Market Place (or that the Duke's Head Hotel if the weather is bad), These 3 talented musicians use traditional instruments including shawms, recorders, curtals and bagpipes to perform songs and dances evocative of midsummer from a bygone era.
Blondel will also be performing a full concert in All Saints Church that evening. Tickets are still available.

Thursday 24 July, 1.30pm
Internationally acclaimed cellist Oscar Alabau will provide the perfect accompaniment to a relaxing drink or bite to eat at the Farmer's Arms, Knight's Hill Hotel.
There are still a few tickets left for the coffee concert at the Town Hall beforehand, where Oscar will appear with pianist Hannah Watson performing works by R Schumann, Debussy, Chopin and new work by Alex Woolf.

Friday 25 July, 1pm
Catch a short programme of chamber music performed by Eblana String Trio at the Rathskeller Bar & Bistro, Hanse House, South Quay. 
Eblana will be joined by exceptionally versatile pianist Andrew Dunlop for the coffee concert at the Town Hall, performing Mozart Piano Quartet in E flat K.493, Brahms Piano Quartet in C minor Op.60 and new work by Rhiannon Randle.

Personal Expressions textile exhibition
King's Lynn Art Club at the Old Warehouse Gallery, Arts Centre from 11 July to 26 July
Embroiderer's Guild "Flower Art" exhibition at Red Cross Hall, Austin Fields on Saturday 12 July & Sunday 13 July
