Festival Feature: Professor Callum Roberts

Continuing the Festival's association with the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), leading marine conservation biologist Professor Callum Roberts will be presenting a talk entitled Future Oceans: A Sea of Hope or Despair?
Callum Roberts is Professor of Marine Conservation at the University of York. His book Ocean of life: how our seas are changing was shortlisted for the Royal Society's 2013 Winton Prize. He has recently been named as one of Britain's 50 most influential conservation heroes by BBC Wildlife Magazine.
Callum's research focuses on human impacts on marine ecosystems, including use of marine reserves for biodiversity conservation and impacts of fishing and pollution on coral reefs.
Anyone who has been to any of the previous Festival talks by RGS speakers will know this will be a first-class evening with broad appeal, featuring some spectacular images and informative and thought-provoking discussion.
