Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment: Reeds, Dances & Marches

Six players from the Orchestra recreate the unique sound of the oboe band originally created at the splendid court of Louis XIV. This concert includes marches, ceremonial music and delightful chamber music showing the more sophisticated side of the oboe and bassoon. Programme includes works by Philidor, Braun, Lully, Fasch and Purcell.
Part of OAE Education's Musical Landscapes project in West Norfolk. Supported by Orchestras Live, Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, Norfolk County COuncil, Arts Council England, Norfolk Music Hub and Alive Leisure.

The Town Hall’s chequerboard façade conceals six hundred years of history. An evocative example of Lynn’s rich heritage, the Town Hall boasts a series of majestic oak panelled rooms, decorated by elegant chandeliers.
There is parking directly opposite the Town Hall on the Saturday Market Place and behind it on Baker Lane. Please note: Charges apply 24 hours a day, including for Blue Badge holders. A £1 flat fee applies between the hours of 6pm – 8am. If parking before 6pm, please ensure you pay the correct fee.
There is one level access from the front door to the lift and toilet for people with disabilities on the ground floor. There is an infra-red sound enhancement system for the hard of hearing, and guide dogs are admitted.

All of our Town Hall festival events have unreserved seats. Capacity varies from 70 to 170 depending on event. Due to current building works and fire regulations at the venue, please note there are only 4 wheelchair spaces available and these MUST be booked in advance.
