Summer Festival Programme Launched

The 50th anniversary of the first moon landings is the inspiration for our 2019 Festival theme of Science and Arts.  Professor Robert Winston will lecture on Manipulating Humans, while Dr Matthew Bothwell of the Cambridge Institute of Astronomy will narrate a new composition by Tim Watts depicting the creation of the universe.  The London Handel Players will perform a piece by the famous 18th century Astronomer Royal, William Herschel.

Our star-studded Festival also welcomes back Lesley Garrett teaming up with clarinettist Emma Johnson, violinist Tasmin Little sharing the stage with pianist Piers Lane and the world-famous Endellion String Quartet will present the Ruth Fermoy Memorial Concert. The popular coffee concerts will feature musical stars of the future, and to round off a programme with something for everyone, we again welcome the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, with Beethoven’s rarely-performed Triple Concerto.

Brochures will be available at the end of March.  Booking opens Tuesday 23 April.
