Return of Radio 2 favourite Clare Teal
It was one of the hottest tickets for King’s Lynn Festival – and the welcome return of Radio 2 favourite Clare Teal did not disappoint.
A packed Corn Exchange audience was thrilled by the singer’s engaging tributes to The First Ladies of Swing including Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee. As ever Clare Teal’s warm, engaging style and story-telling added to the entertainment.
Another significant feature on this visit was the support of Clare Teal’s superb 17-piece Hollywood Orchestra led by Guy Barker whose trumpet playing and stunning arrangements the audience was also able to appreciate and enjoy. The contributions of the band’s stalwart talented soloists added to the pleasure.
Barker also contributed reminiscences from his early days as a professional musician of encounters with big names in the business.
Two hours of music ranging from swing to sublime ballads evoked superlatives which fulfilled the festival’s quest for top quality events.
