Festival Feature: Hedgecoe Exhibition

Works of one of the foremost portrait photographers of the 20th century, John Hedgecoe, will be exhibited in King's Lynn in a new partnership between the King's Lynn Festival and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.  The special 65th Festival Exhibition will feature Hedgecoe's iconic photographs of the artists, performers and supporters of the King's Lynn Festival since 1951, including Sir John Betjeman, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Benjamin Britten, Dame Elisabeth Frink, Sir Peter Ustinov and the world's most reproduced photograph of H M The Queen.

On Saturday 11 July at 2.30pm there will be an exhibition talk, by John Hedgecoe's son Sebastian, on his father's career and the artistry used in achieving his renowned photographic portraits.  Limited tickets are available by phoning the Festival Office on 01553 767557.

The Exhibition, sponsored by Mattioli Woods Wealth Management and Employee Benefits, runs throughout the Festival in the Fermoy Gallery at the King's Lynn Arts Centre, as a fitting reminder of the incredible hard work that Ruth Lady Fermoy put in to revive St George's Guildhall and establish the King's Lynn Festival in 1951.

Further information on the exhibition and the talk is available in our What's On section.
