Walk: Discover Hanseatic Lynn with Dr Paul Richards
Friday 14 June 2019
Interest in the Hanseatic League has grown in recent years fostered by the setting up of the New Hanse in 1980. King’s Lynn is a member. The Old Hanse was a confederation of German towns which was medieval Europe’s greatest trading group. 2019 is the 350th anniversary of its last Parliament or Hansetag.
King’s Lynn has Hanseatic associations Past and Present and possesses the sole medieval trading post of the Old Hanse to survive in England. It is grade I listed. This is the Hanse House opposite King’s Lynn Minster.
Join Paul Richards on a guided tour of the particular places where the town’s Hanseatic heritage can be discovered and appreciated.
