Exhibition Workshop: Cutting the Cuts!
Linocut printing with Rebecca Hearle
Saturday 30 March 2019
A family workshop for ages 8+ to produce work for the Connect community exhibition.
Rebecca Hearle has been practicing linocut printmaking for over twenty years. Interested in landscapes and her interactions with them, she is drawn to those places where land and water meet. The subject of her work is chiefly that of The Wash and the Fens of East Anglia or landscapes that have similar qualities of emptiness and space.
Rebecca explores the landscape she is interested in on foot, slowly taking her time, taking reference photographs and drawn or written notes.
This is followed up by researching the history of the place in archives and libraries. Images and texts are often combined in the final artwork.
