The majority of this two-hour event is suitable for wheelchair users, apart from the visit to Clifton House.

Dr Paul Richards has very kindly agreed to host a fundraising ‘Georgian’ walk with proceeds going to the King’s Lynn Festival. This will be an extended version of his popular Festival walk.

The walk through the riverside streets will include a visit to Clifton House and the Duke’s Head Hotel where there will be a short talk on its history with a glass of wine courtesy of the Hotel.

Sir John Betjeman was in King’s Lynn in 1972 for the Festival where he chaired the Literary Luncheon at which Lord Snow was the speaker.  He also read some Victorian poems.  He toured Lynn and said “This town has what is probably the most beautiful walk in England from St Nicholas Chapel across the Tuesday Market Place, down King Street and Queen Street to St Margaret’s Church.”

The King’s Lynn Festival is very grateful to Duke’s Head Hotel for their support for this fundraising event.
