The Gildas Quartet comprise: Christopher Jones, Violin; Gemma Sharples, Violin; Kay Stephen, Viola; Anna Menzies, Cello.  Praised for their 'refreshing approach' and 'exciting precision', the Gildas Quartet are fast establishing themselves as one of the most exciting young ensembles to emerge in recent years.  They have performed to critical acclaim across the UK and Europe at major venues including the Purcell Room, Wigmore Hall, and live on BBC Radio 3.

British clarinettist Matthew Scott graduated with a 1st Class honours degree from the Royal Academy of Music in 2013, followed by an MA with Distinction and DipRAM in 2015. He was awarded a Full Scholarship for the duration of the Undergraduate course and was generously supported by The Countess of Munster Musical Trust and The Greenbank Scholarship in his Postgraduate studies.  Matthew has performed at major London venues including Eaton Square, Kings Place, LSO St. Lukes, St. George’s Hannover Square, St. John‘s Smith Square, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Wigmore Hall.

The Town Hall’s chequerboard façade conceals six hundred years of history. An evocative example of Lynn’s rich heritage, the Town Hall boasts a series of majestic oak panelled rooms, decorated by elegant chandeliers.

Car Parking
There is parking directly opposite the Town Hall on the Saturday Market Place and behind it on Baker Lane.  Please note: Charges apply 24 hours a day, including for Blue Badge holders. Please ensure you pay the correct fee.  Current charges are available on the borough council website:  https://www.west-norfolk.gov.uk/

Accessibility
There is one level access from the front door to the lift and toilet for people with disabilities on the ground floor. There is an infra-red sound enhancement system for the hard of hearing, and guide dogs are admitted.

Seating
All of our Town Hall festival events have unreserved seats.  Capacity varies from 70 to 170 depending on event.  Due to current building works and fire regulations at the venue, please note there are only 4 wheelchair spaces available and these MUST be booked in advance.
