Michael Foyle and Maksim Stsura started their collaboration in 2012 and have since performed extensively in prestigious venues across the United Kingdom including Queen Elizabeth Hall, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, St James’ Piccadilly, Regent Hall and at the Philharmonia/Royal College of Music Lutoslawski Centenary Festival. They have also given recitals in Essen, Germany and for the Evgeny Mravinsky International Festival in Estonia, including the Estonia Concert Hall, Tallinn. Since November 2013 they have performed across London for Live Music Now and are City Music Foundation artists for the 2014-15 season.
Their debut in the Purcell Room for the Park Lane Group New Year Series 2015 was met with critical acclaim, including a four-star review in The Times. Their performance of Krzystof Penderecki’s Sonata No. 1 for Violin and Piano was described as playing of ‘compelling conviction’ by The Telegraph and received praise from the composer himself. They will make their Wigmore Hall debut in the 2015-16 season through the Kirckman Concert Society.
